A player's vocation shapes their entire life. It usually dictates what kind of weapons they use, how they make money, what kind of creatures they prefer to hunt, and many more things about them.
How to get a Vocation
Advancing to Level 8
Hunt creatures roaming the Rookgaard Island to gain experience until you reach level 8. A red message in your screen will notify you that your character is ready to choose a vocation. Note that you cannot choose a vocation if you reach level 10. If you keep gaining levels and experience your character will remain without Vocation.
Visit Seymour at the Academy
To choose a vocation you must find Seymour. He is usually at the Library in the Royal Tibian Adventurers Academy. Use the keyword "vocation" after greeting him to choose one. Four vocation options will be available: Knight, Paladin, Druid or Sorcerer.
Vocation Explantation
Each vocation has a different amount of Capacity, Hitpoints, and Mana that is gained with each level, 45 points each level, and each vocation also has a different rate of Regeneration of Hitpoints and Mana. In addition to these, your vocation also determines the speed of advancement in certain skills. The speed of advancement in fishing is equal for all vocations.
Your careful choice allows you to use vocation specific items like armors, weapons, shields, wands/rods and also spellbooks. There are also other differences. You are advised to read the pages for each vocation before deciding which one will fit your playing style best.
Knight:Masters of hand-to-hand combat and melee weapons. Advances fastest in fist, sword, club and axe fighting, shielding. Advances very slowly in magic but gains great aumonts of capacity points.
Paladin: Masters of distance fighting with bows and crossbows and average magic users. Advances fastest in distance fighting, reasonable with any other skills.
Druid: Masters of healing and supportive magic, as well as the Ice and Earth elements. Fastest in magic level advance and very slow advance of melee and distance, lacks of capacity points.
Sorcerer: Masters of aggressive and offensive magic, as well as the Fire, Energy and Death elements, It can greatly buff the party skills. Fastest in magic level advance and very slow advance of melee and distance, lacks of capacity points.
How to get your Vocation Promotion
Advancing to Level 20
A promotion is a permanent upgrade for a vocation. Along with a new title, promoted players gain enhanced regeneration, reduced death penalties, and access to promotion-specific spells. Once you reach level 20 you will be able to choose a promotion for your vocation.
Getting Promoted
Promotions can be purchased from any royal figure as the King Tibianus himself. To find the King you must travel to the soutern part of the island at the docks and ask there for a trip to Fibula the passage costs 500 gold coins, then head to the Mercenary Tower located to the east part of Fibula to find the King. You must greet his majesty properly "hail king".
Rookgaard Docks Location
From temple walk south west until you reach the bridge. Then Head the path south and turn west again until you reach the Docks as shown in the image. You can ask for a "passage" to Fibula here.
Mercenary Tower Location
Once you reach Fibula walk east until you see the main gate entrace, then head north. From the village square walk east again and you will find the King and the Mercenary Tower there.
Promoted Vocation
Use the keyword "promotion" to get your new title, It will cost you 20000 gold coins. You can also find the King in the Royal Tibian Adventurers Academy at Mondays.
Promotion Explantation
Promoted characters will receive a new title: Druids become Elder Druids, Knights become Elite Knights, Paladins become Royal Paladins and Sorcerers become Master Sorcerers. Promoted characters experience a reduced death penalty, losing 30% less experience and skills upon death. Item drop rates remain unaffected. Additionally, promoted characters regenerate health and mana faster. Promoted characters also receive an additional 100 soul points and regenerate them at an increased rate: 1 per 15 seconds, compared to the standard 1 per 2 minutes for non-promoted characters. Promoted players can also learn new spells unique to their promotion.
